Welcome to Physical Education 3
This is an elective course for 11th and 12th grade students with passing P.E. 1 and P.E. 2.
This class is required for those students who did not meet 5-out-of-6 Standards on the California State Fitness Test and must take this class as well as retaking the Fitness Test.
This course will focus on developing proficient knowledge of and competency in motor skills, movement patterns, and strategies essential to perform a variety of physical activities. These activities will focus in the areas of Aerobic Activities (Running/Jogging and Walking), Individual and Dual Activities (Badminton, Golf, Gymnastics/Tumbling, Handball, Tennis, Volleyball, and Yoga), as well as Weight Training and Personal Fitness.
This course will include Written Assignments along with Skills Tests, a Mid-Term and Final Exam.
The Hamilton Technology Center will be used to assist in meeting some of the California State Standards for Physical Education, High School curriculum, that are required for this class.
This semester you are going to learn about biomechanics and understanding the concepts of physics, anatomy, and physiology and how it is applied safely to analyzing different motor skills and movement patterns while participating in Physical Education activities. You will be involved in a group video project based on the California State Physical Education Standards for High School Physical Education, Level 3.
